Molly cheered while attending O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, SD and Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.
While at Gustavus, she began her coaching career, coaching the LeCenter Bulldogs Cheerleaders.
After graduating, Molly returned to Sioux Falls to cheer for the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) Skyforce Team and the now defunct Arena Football League (AFL) Sioux Falls Cobras. She headed the Cobra dance team when they were chosen as the best AFL dance team and were invited to perform at the 2000 Pro-Bowl in Ashville, NC. Molly continued to lead and dance for the team as the new Indoor Football League (IFL) Storm Energy Team for three years.
Molly has been a permanent and highly respected staff member of Dakota Spirit since 1999. She has played an active role in the development of Supersquads, Inc. wearing many hats including Assistant Director and Valentine’s Classic Competition Coordinator.
Molly has an extensive background in coaching at all levels from youth to senior all stars as well as sideline and high school competitive cheerleaders. In addition, Molly consults with other teams as needed. She also conducts training sessions and has directed a variety of clinics and camps for all star programs and area schools.
Molly’s All Star teams have placed at local, state, regional and national competitions. The most exciting was winning the United Performing Association (UPA) Divisional Champion Titles in 2000, 2005 - 2008. In addition, her team was the National GRAND Champion in 2000. In February of 2008, Molly’s level 4 all-star team qualified for the level 5 WORLD run-off. They placed 4th only 5 points behind the 1st place team, a team that opened with 9 standing fulls! What an achievement! Molly was named UPA’s National Coach of the Year in 2007.
In 2006 Molly took on the Head Coach position for O’Gorman’s competitive cheer team and sideline squads. Her competitive team has consistently placed in the top four at the competitions they’ve attended.
Molly has volunteered for the South Dakota Cheer Coaches Association since 2000. She coached the All-Star Cheer Team for two years and has been on the Board of Directors for three. Last year, she was named the State Director for Competitive Cheer as well as a Rules Interpreter.
