CONDUCT AND COMPLIANCE

Fostering Fair Play, Safety and Growth in All Star.

The USASF fosters a community and culture of health, safety, and excellence where athletes and other participants can thrive in All Star Cheer and All Star Dance. As a membership organization, USASF sets standards and expectations for its members, conducts screenings and verifications to support compliance, and investigates claims of misconduct.

What does USASF do?

Athlete Age Verification

Every athlete deserves a competitive experience rooted in fairness, consistency, and integrity. Fair play starts with a level playing field. Through athlete age verification and smart rostering technology, the USASF helps create a competitive environment where athletes compete in divisions that align with their age, fostering a fair and consistent experience for everyone.

Each athlete's age is verified through their USASF member profile. Once verified, athletes who maintain active membership will not need to repeat the process year after year.

Documentation

Digital copies of government-issued documents are accepted to verify an athlete’s age, including: birth certificates, passports, state IDs, military IDs or driver’s licenses. Student IDs are not accepted.

Approvals

Documentation is securely submitted through the member profile and reviewed as part of our verification process. Once an athlete's information has been verified, all supporting documents are immediately destroyed to safeguard privacy and protect personal information.

Athlete Protection Standards

The USASF is dedicated to fostering safe and positive environments for our athletes physical, emotional and social development, free from abuse and misconduct. We implement policies to address specific types of abuse and misconduct and practices aimed to reduce, monitor and govern areas where potential issues may arise.

Policies outlined in the USASF Code of Conduct & Compliance defines the boundaries for appropriate and inappropriate conduct, including:

  • sexual abuse and misconduct
  • physical abuse and misconduct
  • emotional abuse and misconduct
  • bullying, threats and harassment
  • hazing

USASF members are encouraged to get to know the different types of misconduct and to avoid any actions that violate these policies.

Background Screenings

Background screenings are an important component of USASF’s efforts to promote a safe environment for young athletes.

Adult participants who are present in the warm-up rooms at USASF-sanctioned competitions are required to undergo background screenings through our preferred screening partner, JDP.

This requirement applies to USASF member club owners, coaches, non-coaching representatives and adult athletes who are over 18 years of age by the start of each membership year on June 1.

Completing a background screening through your USASF profile each membership term provide your club the opportunity to promote and celebrate your commitment to your athletes and the All Star community.

REPORT CONCERNS

Athlete safety depends on a partnership between all of us working together. By providing guidance on when and how to report suspected misconduct, the USASF seeks to remove barriers to disclosing misconduct and abuse. If you suspect a code violation, compliance concern, or abuse, you can report your concerns to USASF.
