About the USASF Scholarship

The USASF College Scholarship Program celebrates All Star athletes who demonstrate character, leadership, dedication and community involvement— qualities that shine far beyond the performance floor.


We’re proud to offer two scholarship paths so every eligible athlete may be recognized for their achievements and aspirations:

  • College Scholarships – for typical All Star athletes currently participating in All Star Cheer or Dance.
  • Exceptional Athlete College Scholarships – for athletes competing on CheerABILITIES or DanceABILITIES teams.

The USASF College Scholarship is designed to recognize the most balanced candidates — typical All Star athletes who demonstrate strength across academics, leadership, dedication, and involvement in All StarThis scholarship is not based on athletic ability or competitive success, but on qualities that reflect character, commitment and achievement beyond performance.

EA Scholarship Information

The USASF Exceptional Athlete College Scholarship is open to any USASF CheerABILITIES or DanceABILITIES athlete who is an active, eligible member and is either:

  • A high school senior, or
  • A graduate who has applied and been accepted into a college, technical school, trade school or certification program designed to prepare for employment.

This scholarship celebrates athletes whose determination, perseverance and positive spirit inspire their teammates and communities both on and off the floor.

Who Can Apply

What You’ll Need

  • Completed online application form
  • Unofficial high school transcript
  • One recommendation (from club owner or coach, with club owner approval)
  • 500-word essay (Microsoft Word format) answering required questions plus two prompts from the list
  • Headshot (not in uniform)


How Winners Are Chosen

Applicants are evaluated in five key areas:

  • Essay (clarity, depth, and reflection)
  • Academics (transcript review)
  • Leadership & Dedication (responsibility and influence)
  • All Star Involvement (meaningful participation)
  • Interview (for finalists only — leadership, emotional intelligence, and goals)

Exceptional Athlete College Scholarship


About the Scholarship

The USASF Exceptional Athlete College Scholarship recognizes USASF CheerABILITIES and DanceABILITIES athletes who demonstrate dedication, leadership and perseverance—qualities that define the All Star spirit. This scholarship celebrates athletes pursuing continued education while inspiring others through their positivity, growth, and determination. Awards are for one academic year, and funds are sent directly to the recipient’s accredited college, university, trade school or certification program to be applied toward reasonable education-related expenses.


Who Can Apply

  • Active USASF CheerABILITIES or DanceABILITIES member athlete in good standing
  • A high school senior or a graduate accepted into a college, university, trade school, or certification program


What’s New for 2026

  • Application Deadline: December 1, 2025
  • Recommendation Deadline: December 8, 2025
  • Virtual Interviews: Finalists participate via Zoom in January 2026
  • Scholarships Presented: At USASF Member Event Producer competitions nationwide
  • No Worlds Interviews or Presentations: Allows athletes and coaches to focus during the busiest part of the season


What You’ll Need

  • Completed online application form
  • 500-word essay authored by the athlete (Microsoft Word format)
  • Unofficial high school transcript or Work Performance Questionnaire
  • Headshot (good quality, not in uniform)
  • One recommendation form from an All Star coach, school guidance counselor or employer (emailed directly to the recommender within 48 hours)
  • Bonus consideration: Participation in transitional services or extracurricular activities


How Winners Are Chosen

Each application is scored across four key categories:

  • Essay – 30%
  • Recommendation Form – 20%
  • Industry/Community Involvement or Transitional Services – 25%
  • Academics or Work Performance – 25%

Finalists are invited to a virtual interview where they can share their goals, experiences, and All Star journey.


Essay Requirements

  • Essay must be written by the athlete, in their own words.
  • Do not include your name or club name.
  • Address the required question:
    Why are you going to college, university, or trade school, and what do you plan to study?
  • Choose two additional prompts from the list below to create one cohesive essay (500 words or less):
    • How has participation in All Star helped your personal development and confidence?
    • What makes you a good role model?
    • List three challenges you’ve faced in All Star and how you overcame them.
    • What would help improve the culture of our sport?
    • How could the All Star community grow in diversity and inclusion?
    • Describe any unusual challenges or financial hardships you’ve faced in continuing your education.


Essays are judged on authenticity, originality and self-reflectionThe use of AI-generated writing tools (such as ChatGPT or similar systems) or parent assistance is strongly discouraged—the committee wants to hear your voice and story.


Recognition & Awards

Recipients are recognized during select USASF Member Event Producer competitions, often with sponsors present. This scholarship celebrates athletes whose determination, spirit and leadership continue to uplift the All Star community.
