EXCEPTIONAL ATHLETE COMMITTEE

The Exceptional Athlete Committee seeks to provide rules and safety guidelines, understanding and specialized training for Coaches and Assistants of Exceptional Athletes to enhance the benefit of their positive life experiences through All Star Cheer and Dance.

Exceptional Athlete Committee Members

Who is eligible to serve:
Open to all USASF Members who meet one or all of the following:
  • Owner or Coach of an Exceptional Athlete Team
  • Event Producer or Affiliate who are passionate about or have experience with the population
  • Involvement or experience working with people with disabilities outside of All Star
  • Willingness to voluntarily participate and serve for at least 2 years

    Term:
    September 2026 to August 2028. (May be renewed annually based on interest and active participation)

    Commitment:
    • Represent the best interests of All Star Exceptional Athlete teams and athletes
    • Attend bi-monthly committee calls and actively participate in executing committee initiatives 
    • Contribute outside the committee to small projects and tasks as needed
    • Participation in sub-committees or focus groups as needed
    • Each year will include 5 - 6 meetings. Members must attend 4+ meetings per year to remain eligible as an active committee member

    2026 Appointment/Election Process:

    • Applications open August 1 and run through August 14.
    • Applicants will participate in an interview process
    • Committee members are selected on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, expertise and experience in certain fields pertaining to people with disabilities, ability to represent the needs of Exceptional Athletes across All Star, as well as passion and ability to advocate for the population.
    • Interested applicants may indicate interest in NEW Coordinator & Admin roles for the 2026-2028 term: Engagement Coordinator, Resource Coordinator, and Secretary. See application for more information and a brief description of duties.
